How to reset my Samsung TV

Updated : 16th October, 2026

Are you experiencing issues with your TV? You may want to try to reset your TV which will return it to its initial settings. A reset can sometimes be the fastest and easiest way to solve a problem on your TV unless the TV has been physically damaged or there are component failures.

Please note:

  • Resetting your TV with the instructions below will erase all data on your smart TV and restore settings to when the product was initially purchased.
  • Samsung accounts and all downloaded apps will be deleted, so please note the router name and password in advance.
  • Settings will vary depending on location and/or where the product was purchased.
1 Turn on your TV and press the Home button on the remote control

6 The TV will begin erasing all data and will be restored to factory settings
7 When the reset is complete, the TV will turn back on. Select Allow on the on-screen prompts to complete the installation and continue to enjoy your Samsung Smart TV
