How to Enable Wi-Fi Calling on Samsung Galaxy Phones

Wi-Fi Calling allows you to make and receive calls over a Wi-Fi network when cellular coverage is weak or unavailable. This feature requires an active SIM card from a participating carrier and a stable Wi-Fi connection. Follow the steps below to enable Wi-Fi Calling on your Samsung Galaxy device.

1. Check Software and App Updates

Before enabling Wi-Fi Calling, ensure your device's software and related apps are up to date. Outdated software can prevent the feature from working correctly.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Software Update.
  3. Select Download and Install.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

2. Enable Wi-Fi Calling

Once your software is updated, you can turn on Wi-Fi Calling. Note that availability depends on your carrier and region.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Connections > Wi-Fi Calling.
  3. Toggle Wi-Fi Calling to enable it.

Alternatively, you can enable Wi-Fi Calling from the Quick Settings panel:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  2. Tap the Wi-Fi Calling icon to turn it on.

3. Verify Wi-Fi and SIM Card Requirements

To use Wi-Fi Calling, ensure the following conditions are met:

- Your phone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Weak or unstable signals may prevent the feature from working.

- An active SIM card from a carrier that supports Wi-Fi Calling is inserted. Contact your carrier to confirm compatibility.

4. Troubleshoot Wi-Fi Calling Issues

If Wi-Fi Calling isn't working, check the following:

- Ensure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network. Open the Quick Settings panel and verify the Wi-Fi icon is active.

- Confirm your SIM card is active and compatible with Wi-Fi Calling. Contact your carrier if unsure.

- Restart your phone to refresh network connections and resolve temporary glitches.
